World's Most Secure Airlines as at 2012


Experience of flying a plane is different for each person. However, according to the Jet Airliner Crash Data Evaluation Centre, there are some airlines that performs better than any other airline in 2012.

Airlines from Europe, New Zealand and Hong Kong, received the highest score in terms of safety. Safety index is measured by how long the airline has been operating, the last time the airline lost his plane, and the total number of damaged aircraft. Data taken since 1983, the year of the Jet Airliner Crash Data Evaluation Centre began monitoring the airline.

The interesting thing is the carrier of the United States coming in the top 20 is a low budget airline, instead of the national carrier. Meanwhile, airlines from Asia included in the top 10 list include Cathay Pacific, Air Emirates, Etihad Airways, EVA Air, and Hainan Airlines.

Meanwhile, according to the Aviation Safety Network (ASN) as reported by the Daily Telegraph, in 2012 a good year in terms of aircraft safety. According to ASN, a total of 496 cases of accidents on commercial aircraft makes this number less than 2011. This shows, traveling by plane more secure.
